With SQL Server 2012 Microsoft released a new tool to help integrating  PowerPivot into the SharePoint environment. This tool - PowerPivot Configuration Tool - register among others the PowerPivot System Service on the local computer and creates the cube for the PowerPivot Management Console.  Besides all that it creates a SharePoint Library on the SharePoint Central Administration site with PowerPivot Excel files for each available language. These file connects to a central PowerPivot Excel file that acts as a kind of hub for the data stored in the PowerPivot Management Console cube on Analysis services. Recently I had some issues with an installation of PowerPivot. The PowerPivot Management Console gave a red cross, and though this feature is well documented on powerpivotgeek.com this did not work for me. For those considering to use IBM Netezza Data Warehouse Appliances to set up a data warehouse it might be good to do some testing before stepping into the IBM solution.  In a single user mode the appliance performs outstanding but as soon as the number of users increase the performance decreases. Considering the fact that you will do a substantial investment in a data warehouse solution for your company that might be a bit of a disappointment to find out that the data warehouse is actually a single user solution.  Bull Fast Track does perform very well with multiple users firing simultaneously their queries. May be you should take that into consideration when you buy your solution.

L'installation de SQL Server est très simple. Après quelques questions simples où vous voulez mettre ce que l'installation est un fait et vous pouvez utiliser SQL Server. La plupart des utilisateurs de suivre la règle - Suivant - Suivant - Terminer et dans ce cas de SQL Server est installé avec toutes les options choisies installé sur le disque système. Rien de mal avec celle de provoquer si vous avez un seul disque, car alors il n'y a pas grand-chose à choisir, est-il. Toutefois, si vous êtes le chanceux ayant plusieurs disques de votre ordinateur portable (j'ai réussi à faire jusqu'à 3 disques), puis l'installation devient plus délicat. De la cause ce qui est beaucoup plus difficile lorsque nous parlons d'un serveur Fast Track avec un SAN dédié derrière elle et une matrice de disques qui fait une Dasle utilisateur ordinaire. Parce que vous pouvez choisir tout devient plus difficile. C'est comme la commande d'un hamburger au MacDo ou une VW Golf

The installation of SQL Server is very simple. After a few simple questions where you want to put what the installation is a fact and you can use SQL Server. Most users follow the Next - Next - Next - Finish rule and in that case SQL Server is installed with all options chosen installed on the system disk. Nothing wrong with that of cause if you have only one disk because then there is not much to chose, is it. However, if you are the lucky one having multiple disks in your laptop (I managed to have up to 3 disks) then the installation becomes more tricky. Of cause this is much more difficult when we talk about a Fast Track server with a dedicated SAN behind it and an array of disks that makes an ordinary user dasle. Because you can choose everything becomes more difficult. It is like ordering an hamburger at MacDo or a VW Golf at your dealer. You have to think whether you like electric windows in the back or tinted glass and at what level. Everything becomes much more easy w
